Welcome to Characters.io. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Services Description

Characters.io provides party character entertainment services, including but not limited to princess characters, superhero characters, mascots, and other themed performers for birthday parties, corporate events, and special occasions.

2. Booking and Payment

Reservations

  • All bookings are subject to character availability
  • A deposit is required to confirm your reservation
  • Full payment is due before the event date
  • Booking confirmation will be sent via email

Pricing

  • All prices are quoted in US dollars
  • Prices may vary based on location, character, duration, and date
  • Travel fees may apply for locations outside our primary service areas
  • Holiday and peak season pricing may differ from standard rates

3. Cancellation Policy

All payments made to Characters.io are final. We do not issue refunds for any reason, including cancellations, changes of mind, or no-shows. If you cancel a confirmed booking, your deposit may be held as credit toward a rescheduled event for up to 1 year from your original event date. 4. Event Requirements

  • A safe, designated performance area must be provided
  • The client is responsible for crowd control, especially with large groups
  • Characters may not be asked to perform activities that could cause injury or damage costumes
  • A private changing area should be available when possible
  • Characters require access to water/refreshments for events over 1 hour

5. Photography and Media

  • Personal photography during events is encouraged
  • Commercial use of photos/videos requires written permission
  • Characters.io may use photos from events for marketing purposes (faces of guests will not be used without consent)

6. Liability

  • Characters.io carries liability insurance for our performers
  • We are not liable for injuries caused by third parties or pre-existing venue conditions
  • The client assumes responsibility for the safety of the event venue
  • We are not responsible for items lost, damaged, or stolen at the event

7. Performer Conduct

Our performers are professional entertainers who will:

  • Arrive in full costume and character
  • Remain in character throughout the performance
  • Engage appropriately with children and guests
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols

8. Client Conduct

Clients and guests must:

  • Treat performers with respect
  • Not request removal of costume elements
  • Not engage in inappropriate behavior
  • Provide accurate event information at time of booking

9. Weather Policy

For outdoor events:

  • Events may be moved indoors or rescheduled due to severe weather
  • Characters.io will make reasonable efforts to perform in light weather conditions
  • Safety of performers and guests is the primary concern

10. Intellectual Property

Characters.io is not affiliated with, licensed by, or endorsed by The Walt Disney Company, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm Ltd., Warner Bros., DC Comics, Nickelodeon, or any other owner of trademarked or copyrighted characters. Any character names that may be subject to trademark are used for descriptive and comparative purposes only. Our performers portray original, generic characters inspired by classic fairytales, folklore, and adventure themes, and are not the trademarked characters themselves. If you require a licensed, branded character appearance for your event, please contact the trademark holder directly.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be subject to binding arbitration in Orange County, California.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
